Hello.I'm a SACD supporter from the beginning. But NOT a Cheerleader at all!
I also have some a DVD-A player and some discs.
I already performed several tests using DualDiscs on my SONY SACD AND on my Cambridge Audio DVD-A. I never had any problems!
However, I still agree with Philips when they claim that a DualDisc IS NOT a CD-Audio disc. And since it's not a CD-Audio disc (i'm talking about the supposed CD Audio layer), on some players problems can occur.
Regarding DualDisc, I have to say that I do prefer DVD-Audio, with a good Stereo and a good Multi Channel track. I have several!
I understand what DualDisc wants to achieve, I just think it's too late for that now. DVD format for Audio was not built to have a full compatibility with CD, it was built mainly as an option to replace CD.
Just like SACD... But Sony wisely enough, added SACD Hybrid Audio Discs in order to "conquer" a better position on the High Res Audio markets all over the world.
I hope both SACD and DVD-A survives. Regarding DualDisc, I really don't care at all.
Best regards,
Hugo Rosa
