First, there is this bizarre, and drastic difference in volume. The DVDAs play at a nice clip, but the CD's play much lower. What does the brochure say? That is normal! No, it's not. I just swapped out the Pioneer Elite 45, and the redbook volume is 3 times louder on the Pioneer.
Preamp goes from 2 O'clock on the panasonic, to 11 O clock, on the Pioneer.And getting the thing to just up and play, when a disc is inserted, is impossible. Half the time I have to get up and just push the play button to get sound out of it. It has been demoted to the HT DVD player.
