I have owned one of these since January and have had no problems. DVD-audio discs load automatically and I don't recall anything particularly tricky about setup. When starting up - with the blue Cambridge logo screen displayed- the type of disc being loaded is displayed in the top left corner of the screen (CD,DVD-video, or DVD-audio). Are you getting this? And what does it say when you load a DVD-A disc?
