It requires an all Schiit stack of gear as best I can tell so in that sense it is 'proprietary'. On the other hand, if your system isn't very 'tech heavy' it might be a nice solution for some.
I accomplish multi-room control within my Roon ecosystem using the Roon Remote App on my iPhone or iPad. I'm sure there are other similar software solutions to control your audio stack in different locations. However, none of these (that I know of) will report system health information, including temperature, current, triggered protection, tube heater integrity, etc. BUT, if I assume that we are in the listening room that is under control we can easily see system status. If there's a fire there must be a problem somewhere!
Still, kind of an interesting system and possibly a good solution for some. Link below.
