I tried a quad of the fancy boxed PSvane 12au7s, first for the input drivers on my VAC PA80/80 then later as a single output tune on my Eastern Electric Supreme tubed dac.
I though5 they were ok, very quiet but not particularly seductive in any way.
I settled on the humble JJ gold pin 12au7 for the VAC which I really like and an E80cc tube for the dac.
