I am surprised that no one has commented that removing the burlap invaribly causes the back metal grilles to resonate at certain frequencies - which is *really* annoying. I have found that you need some sort of dampening material otherwise you'll get a metal ringing at loudish levels. That has been my experience anyway.Marc
