People always insist that larger Maggies won't work in smaller rooms. I've had my 1.6's in several small rooms <12x10 and they still sounded great to me. Sure you get a bit more from a larger room, but then you may be sitting too far away form the speakers to get the full benefit anyway! I love listening to my 1.6's nearfield (4.5-7 ft. for me) while my couch is about 15 ft away. To me the 1.6's are at their best around 5-7 ft. away, about 5 feet from front wall.People can easily excuse this and say I just don't have the 'ear' for music. To that, all I can say is to try nearfield listening for yourself!
