I'm considering JJ's "standard" 6L6GC product, not the upgraded or enhanced versions shown on some of the Websites. My main concern is whether these have proven to be reliable. Have any members here seen failures like shorts or arcing? My application won't run them very hard, probably less than 400V and dissipation around 20W. It's all home stereo stuff, so no banging around in a guitar amp. Any comments on Antique Electronic Supply matching and burn-in of quads would also be useful.
Follow Ups:
I have used these in a McIntosh 240 amplifier. Never had any problems.
I have run them in guitar amps and they are reliable. I have used them SE and as interstage transformer drivers and they do the job of the 6L6GC. Can't beat them for the $92 a quad.
I love running basic tubes in amps I listen to regularly as I don't worry about the cost of turning on the amp.
