I have a number of Garrard 301 parts I am selling on Ebay. I have gotten numberous questions asking if I will ship to Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea etc. This is actually my first selling auction on Ebay, and I just wanted to know if there is anything I should know or precautions I should take if one of these bidders wins?
I am offering only Paypal as a payment method, and these things should probably not go for more than a couple of hundred bucks at the most.

Follow Ups:
If they don't like it, then let them find a Nigerian guy who can have his freight forwarder pick it up for them.EVERY problem I have had was from Korea, but I was lucky enough to come out ahead in ALL cases. The best guy was the one who refused to pay BEFORE I sent the item, and then got all bent out of shape when I posted negative feedback after SEVERAL weeks of "negotiating" with him to complete the transaction. He never did pay up, and I never did send the item.
I don't sell to them any more, and the list of "bad" countries is growing. Mike.

Later Gator,
Crank up your talking machine, grab a jar of your favorite "kick-back", sit down, relax, and let the good times roll.Eagles may soar, but weasels do not get sucked into jet engines.

Do not take Paypal from outside the US. Buyer can claim he never received the item (particularly if he did) and Paypal will refund his money. For this and other reasons I do not accept Paypal from anyone anywhere in any amount.

This is not correct! PayPal payments from the UK and Canada are covered too!
Brian,I agree. I will not take paypal either. Wire transfer, postal MO ( I dont even like these--they can be created in Photoshop) cash or personal or bank check.
It's really bad out there.
Since I don't have a credit card processing service, what other payment should be accepted then? International money orders are just as suspect I have heard.

Wire transfer to your bank account (one dedicated just to such transfers from which you withdraw the funds immediately upon receipt)
are safest. It is unlikely your overseas prospects will comply with such a request, however.

my amp which was advertised as a new amp, but the box had been opened said the styroam packing was not the original packing. And tried to reverse the charge. Too late. :-)

as a Seller, make sure you have and can provide a tracking number; USPS have a global priority service that provides online tracking for larger items DHL/BaxGlobal provide tracking also
This will tell you the time, date and who signed for the article ( and where )There's no way any Buyer can institute a successful claim against you by Card chargeback or PAYPAL if you can cut and paste the tracking details that shows who/where/when the item was signed for
Our company accepts Cards and PAYPAL, we ship between 50 and 100 items a day internationally and have *never* had a successful claim from either Card companies or PAYPAL where we were able to use online bar-coded tracking to prove delivery status
Since we did have a negative and costly experience with Paypal we do not accept such payments. Many other sellers have had similar bad things happen to them, as has been copiously documented here and elsewhere. Indeed I would characterize Paypal as an ongoing criminal organization designed to defraud, and those who know how to manipulate the Paypal system can get away with outright theft on a regular basis.

is this how you spell hyperbole?
