Maybe it's been posted before, I don't recall anyway. I've always loved Eva singing this tune, but watching her doing it is something for what I wasn't ready. There are more videos by her there. Hope you like it:
Follow Ups:
I first heard Eva Cassidy driving from south Maui to the north shore years ago. They played "Fields of Gold" by Sting, the "Live at blues alley" version. I was stunned by the raw power and emotion in her voice. So stunned in fact, I had to pull off the side of the road and listen. I anxiously awaited the name of the artist and wrote it down: Eva Cassidy. I turned around, drove back home and fired up my computer to learn more about this amazing voice. I was hoping she was a new artist that the world was just hearing and would be around for decades to come. Thats when I learned about her cancer. Seeing the photo on the "Songbird" cover, I was even more amazed. THAT VOICE is coming from THAT FACE? I have not been so moved by a vocalist before or since. Eva was one of a kind. A once in a lifetime artist. Makes me smile that people are still discovering her gift.
.
Enjoyed it immensely. Amazing talent lost.

I'm listening to "Fields of Gold" right now and the Kleenex box is getting quite a workout. RIP, Eva, you were the best ever.
I "settled" for her singing "Time After Time". I love that song.
The well-preserved original artist still "owns" that song, in my opinion:

Thanks A.J. Incredibly lovely and most touching. We had the pleasure of seeing her live back in the D.C. area in the "early" days ...
My wife and I were discussing that she was one of those rare few that could interpret a well-worn song (or any for that matter) and make it "hers" ... as if no one else had ever sung it before.
You're welcome. You were very lucky to have seen her live. Watching her video and listening to her recordings is very moving, so having her just in front must have been quite unique.I agree with you and your wife, she had that capability of making any song a property of her own, comunicating easily what she felt singing it. Well, fortunately we still have her recordings.
