my limited collection of FR and no "helper" are not anywhere as good as Karlson tubes on rain (or cymabls) upper F - (subjective tube dispersion is ~120V x 160H) Larger Karlson bass couplers can generate a fair amount of midbass power without much cone movementhow much power response does it take to get good applause and rain/waterfall sounds? - - with limited dipsersion FR, rain can sound "hard" dead on axis, and go flat not too much off axis. Some amplifiers such as EP2500 might mess up a good recording from the getgo (?)
I had rough pair of original Quad - rattled bad and had to take hair dryer to them every few days
on another subject - wonder if theres a simple way to get your Cornwall to sound better for you? maybe someone over at Klipsch forums is honest enough to admit faults and have worked a few problems out without changing out its innards (?) - maybe DJK has a few ideas -guess they;re too tall to use as 6th order boosted reflex subs for the 207...
Best,
Freddy
