Stage accompany ribbon tweeters (very nice), pair of galaxy audio for mid-range, pair of 12" eminence for mid bass, quad of 15" eminence for low bass. All line level active crossover. Some tube and some solid state amps, CD source with manheim steamroller (which I had never heard).
Not as intimate as lowthers/good jazz/vinyl/DHT's....but it freakin rocked the house in a foundation/window ratteling way that our systems couldn't touch and wasn't far behind on the rest.
What can I say, we was ruined:)

Got the plans?
No plans, not my speakers but I'll link you to one of Scot L pics. I don't think this would be the place to start. I went with an 18sound XT1086 horn and their ND1090 compression driver, the Audax PR170MO mid-range on an open baffle, and I'll being trying to work Scott's 12" and 15" drivers into the mix this weekend perhaps.
My other friend used the Heil as a tweeter and same mid-range on an open baffle. The other guy had Lowthers and went with the BasZilla which you can buy plans for (and it is a very nice speaker but I couldn't afford it).

P.S. Good luck and speakers are a bitch. You might look at the Pi speaker site for some ideas/concepts
Speakers are a pain! Those wouldn't be allowed in the living room...
I feel like I am going about this back assward. Trying to find a pair of speakers I like because I want to build a SET kit. I have another pair to listen to as the manufacturer is somewhat nearby. Even if I end up like others and disliking Klipsch long-term (whose to say) it is easy to get the money back while I have something enjoyable to listen to while I figure it out. And $400-$700 isn't a lot of money as far as good speakers go.
What did you do with the 12"?
I've been thinking that a 15" like the Eminence Basslite C2515 Neo in a sealed box might be just the cats meow for the 75-150 range.
