"The signal in one direction on each + and - wire moves the speaker diaphragm, the signal in the opposite direction does nothing."
How is this possible with a signal composed of an alternating current? OK, 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' says, "anything is possible in an infinite universe;" but I would really like to know how is this possible? Please stick to the concept of matter, its fundamental constituents, its motion and behavior through space and time, and the related entities of energy and force in your response.
Follow Ups:
Electrons (moving charges) move more easily WITH the grain - the direction of the deformation of the crystal lattice structure of the wire. Like porcupine quills.
. . . shouldn't we be equally concerned about the directionality of ALL the conductors in our systems? All the internal wiring in amplifiers, speakers, and source components? What about the windings of crossover inductors and power supply transformers (which should be wound counterclockwise in the Southern hemisphere)? What about PCB traces? The leads of resistors and nonpolar capacitors? How many manufacturers take meticulous care to insure that all these conductors are properly directional?
Eggs Ackley! Transformers, internal wiring, capacitors, inductors, internal speaker wiring, etc. oh, and thnx for reading my posts. :-)

What is your authoritative citation for your asseveration:
"The signal in one direction on each + and - wire moves the speaker diaphragm, the signal in the opposite direction does nothing."
To the average layman it sounds like total nonsense. So I am certain you will want to provide a scientific source to provide verisimilitude to your declaration.
A lot of things in this hobby sound weird to the average layman. That's why they call them controversial. It's not that I don't enjoy a Brer Fox and Tar Baby routine from time to time.
This means they are not proven/accepted facts.
Proven and accepted by whom? The average audiophile? The average guy on the street?

You know who but I know you won't accept it................and I will no longer be here to hear your reply.
(It was only an errant mouse-click that got me into this strange place.)
