Haven't ordered any IC's yet but did order a custom 5M USB cable. The power cable is incredibly well shielded and assuming/hoping the USB will be the same.
Will report back when I receive it in a few weeks. (And will probably take a run at a few pairs of IC's to evaluate in the next month or two).
Follow Ups:
blake,
Having just looked at the context of your system | it seems we've both travelled the same path, as I've owned a JA Michell GyroDec and more than my share of the Audio Technica 33 series range of cartridges alongside ones from EMT | Dynavector which were always used on one of my latter four different versions or vintage of Well Tempered Labs Classic ( MK ll | Super ) ending with their Amadeus GTA MK ll version.
I've also dealt with Steve at VAS as the result of having owned two different Cayin integrated amps in the pass, so once again, have always been ( and remain ) open-minded to Chinese designs..., can you say " Line Magnetic Gold Series Amplification? ".
As this is my fourth day listening very very carefully to said Accuphase IC's, I can go out on a limb and state for the record this is among one of the best sounding pair of IC's I've ever heard, granted I'm talking pure copper ones | as it to my ears offer a very very unique type of spaciousness | separation ( around | between notes ) | bass bloom where one can clearly see in the minds eye as if the bass notes are similar to an early morning fog, as it comes underneath one's doorway as if each note is rolling across the floor ( be it carpeted | wooden or concrete ) the highs are done in a very natural manner as not to draw attention to it, yet as mentioned earlier on, while lacking the last bit of sparkle as heard via my Xangsane Sterling Silver IC's, which allows the innermost details to pop out from the tweeters in such a manner of which I've never experienced from pure silver cabling whatsoever | yet this cheap arse pure copper pair of IC's do in fact offer me a more relaxed | mellowed type of presentation that's far from lacking.
You and others viewing this post, owe it to yourselves to spend the low asking price of $20 for a pair of these before spending more, and I'd be the last person on the planet to want to bash those whom are able to swing $10.000-$20.000 on a single pair of IC's, as I see it, more power to you, but for those amongst us whom are the average Joe's or naysayers, I'd ask that you prove my findings as falsified, otherwise look at it as your loss if you aren't willing to trust the honest opinion of someone whom sees himself as a music first type of audiophile, and in saying this, I've always and I mean always based how I select to hear any given component | cabling loom based upon how it reacts to the truer sense of timbre | tonality | pitch | timing | nimbleness | lastly it or their abilities to handle complex passages without coming across as lacking or underwhelming or slow, the latter of which I simply can't tolerate in this shorten lifespan.
C'Mon call me out on this one | I dare you.
Great news, blake.
As I've to assume there's something in the water within said design concept behind these cables, I for one am happy I no longer have to rely upon usb cables or owning extra PCs as the result of downsizing the main system to whereas I only use two components of late.
Which in turn | allows me to look into buying one more power cord | as well as pair of IC's, of which being more and more engaged with the sonics of pure copper IC's as the result of listening to said Accuphase 40th Anniversary Edition IC's, I'm rethinking my options, and it should come as no surprise!, the brand | model I'm looking at cost less than $129 for a 1.5m length, as shown above.
While I had initially put up a post yesterday to both ABliss | Jon L., I decided to pull it, as I found myself once again in one of the total of 6 " WTF moments ", where I was able to figure this one out on my own ( seemingly the mind is still active enough to where common sense kicked in ) as it relates to using different plating types of RCA connectors to balance out the sound of any given type of wiring used for IC's, be that pure copper | pure silver | silver plated copper ones, by using the most dominant side of said IC's, which are the ones located on the source end ( streamer | server | DAC ) by making these plugs rhodium plated when used with pure copper wiring | gold plated copper with the other two, while leaving the connectors which go into one's amplification as they're, in which case I'm assuming these would be either gold or rhodium plated copper to begin with?.
Essentially this would allow an overly warm presentation to have more top end extension | snapping bass lines | nimbleness with said pure copper IC's, yet used on the other two types of base metals, take some of the edge off the very top end, while in theory bringing about a more relaxed | cohesive type of sound, yet not at the expense of watering the sound to much...-, hence while trying to achieve more of a sense of detailing capabilities, where balance is key, not to warm | but definitely not to analytical.
By all means once things are in place | do share your findings.
Be well | Stay safe.
