Any experience using this new Jupiter 16 GA tinned stranded copper cotton dielectric wire?
I've used it in lieu of 16 GA Duelund tinned copper as a speaker cable and found it to work better in my system.
I'm interested in other's opinion.
Thank you

I'd add that if you're looking for a tinned copper based pair of SCs?, do consider any of the variations from Supra, as to my ears they've a very nicely balanced type of presentation to them, whereas some of these types have come across " to my ears " a tad overly warm.
I have made balanced ICs from that twisted pair wire. The 16awg is a bit heavy for ICs IMO but does work well if you enjoy a full/rich midrange. They also make the same stuff in 12 gauge, which should work well for speaker cable and would not be bad as an unterminated option since the tinned coating will inhibit corrosion. I prefer machine twisting to the typical DIY process. These are clear competitors to the Western Electric wire and to the Duelund WE clone wire. I have always enjoyed working with Jupiter.
16 gauge wire is hardly adequate for speaker wire. Generally, the larger the wire diameter, the less resistance the wire has, and thus the better the sound that emanates from your speakers. I changed from 14 awg stranded wire and 12 awg solid copper wire and SQ improved dramatically.

I have found that the wire gauge effects on sound is pretty system dependent. I have found 12 GA Deulund to produce excessive and out of proportion bass, 16 GA Jupiter works much better.
Could the thicker gauge be doing the converse, improving the bass (lower resistance, improved damping factor) while rolling off the highs ?I just did a project where I used thicker gauge on the subs/bass (improved damping factor)) and thinner on the mid/highs to avoid the HF rolloff.

Yes, that's what I've heard. Again, i feel the choice of wire gauge is system dependent
