All transistors are suspect and need to be tested. And all the collector resistors and emitter resistors. there is always a lot of failed components.
I've been able to get modern equivalents for the transistors but it is a lot of work. Mouser has (or had) replacement PS caps too (shorter but same diameter screw tops).
I say 'never again' and keep getting them on my bench. I think I've fixed at least 5.
