Don't want to "rain on your parade" Joel (now i got to grab my guitar and write a blues,"Rain on my parade", what a song title...) but.
A while ago i had a glass platter and a felt mat on my TD125mk platter. Yes i made my mistakes, i paid my dues. When i finally came to my senses and removed the glass platter i noticed the sprung suspension of the Thorens worked a lot better suddenly. So putting a lot of extra weight on a suspended TT ain't a good idea IMHO. A clamp like the Mitchell maybe would get you the same effect without the extra weight. Gorgeous TD125, still love it.
