"...Cool that your 71A amps (w/ slagle chokes?)...."The SE71A circuit is straight forward as per the schematic in my website. Sherwin supplied Dave's chokes for the power supply of the amp I built for him. You guys have heard Joel's version in past WS Nov. shows.
The tonearm is an excellent example of superb craftsmanship. Some may feel the wooden arm holder gives it a "rustic" look....but I prefer that hand made aspect. The bearings have absolutely no play yet moves freely and actually feels better than the RMG309, SME 3012 series II or FR64fx.
As noted in his website, Thomas built this arm mainly to combine the musical virtues of classic designs from SME and Ortofon with the detail retrieval ability of modern high tolerance bearing equipped tonearms. Since he owns both arms, uses a DL103 in a wooden body and SPU-A, I felt I couldn't go wrong and purchased one.
It is too early for me to have a formed opinion of how it sounds all I can say is I'm enjoying it and maybe that's enough!

PS: Yup Rex is now listening to 2-way Altecs....
