Doesn't surprise me that he built an all out effort here and there on playback.Looks like two motors in the photo. Probably necessary to spin what looks like a massive flywheel below the platter.
Are you using that same tonearm. I have one without a counterweight that I plan on using some time down the road.
I would love to hear more about the table. If it came with a manual it would be nice to forward this to vinylengine for their data base.
