The AT15XE, listening to it now on a Dual 1219, fresh from the thrift, 10 euro for both. Got the 1219 up and running on 33 RPM, alas the speed change mechanism is probably a goner. Impressive build quality, heavy platter, washing machine motor. Built into a crappy plinth on 4 wobbly springs. With excessive mechanics attached to the chassis. Not everything was better in the 70s. Now we know better. We pay 600 euro for an OK arm on a slab of MDF on 3 rubber feet with a little plastic motor, plastic spindle, plastic inner platter, glass platter with a thin felt mat on top. It used to be hifi stereo. Now it's high end...
