it appears to be more like a GZ-32/34/37, which are indirectly heated tubes.The GZ-34 is NOT the great sounding tube, IMHO, but it will handle higher currents with lower voltage drop and a bit more input capacitance. I have a nice pair of metal based Mullards I use in my 300B monoblocks.
GZ-32 or GZ-33 might be better for low current applications like a phono preamp. Depends a lot on the PS design and I wouldn't go too far away from the original rectifier without exercising caution.
That said, I can't imagine a phono preamp drawing much current.
