VPI makes good tables, but they promote them even better. You have to give them credit for that. There are other brands out there that don't invest as much into that aspect (perhaps foolishly), but all money goes into the product.

Take that for whatever you like.

Also, realize that deals are deals and you may not be best served by a special "deal" on any one item. It really is all about matching the components -- particularly for mechanical devices such as tt/arm/cart. I would invest as much as you possibly can in your TT & arm...and only THEN select a cartridge based on what you have. your TT & arm are MUCH harder to switch later on than, say, a cartridge.

Glad to hear you will be getting a wall-mounted shelf. This is a huge deal, even though it will not be as dramatic as if you were moving from a floor stand on suspended wood. You will be able to hear all your non-suspended table has to offer.
