concerning bugle gain vs psu voltage

how much if any does gain increase/decrease with psu voltage ?
i went from the stock 40db to 60db and found that the cartridges were overdriving the opamps and causing distortion.
40db just wasnt enough with my passive pre.
so i went for 50db and everything is great now.
i want to to replace the 2 9v batteries with a pair of 12v 24ah sla and just wondering if the extra voltage will increase the gain anymore.
and can i just series the +/- rails on the board to get a 3-conductor to connect to the seriesed 12v sla or do the 12v sla have to be connected separately like the 9v batteries ?
the board looks like dual-mono but i thought the opa2134 needed +/- rails.
im thinking 1 of the 9v is reversed in the circuit ?
