I think otherwise

External vibes more severe ?
Maybe so, depends on present supports, where you live, what you live in, what's nearby --- numerous variables. So maybe not.
But we're specifically talking gear-originated resonance here, and the 'trapping' thereof.....

Chanelling vibrations is "not" how one deals with vibrations ?
Last time I looked this was never a black & white dilemma. Energy can't be 'cancelled' ..you cannot get rid of vibrations, blah blah blah.
So you've got to translate them and channel elsewhere.

Channelling vibrations is in fact the dominant method for creating a habitable environment for transports, electronics, etc. Even a spring channels vibrations, as it converts some to motion and heat (which then need further channels to move into).

This rack --if it introduces a zero-contact state-- would in fact encourage unwanted, gear-originated vibrations, like the 60 hertz ac-trannie buzz for example, to remain in the chassis, having no other recourse. And probably resulting in a full-chassis vibrato.

Maybe I missing something.
How is it that you would imagine that "damping and tuning" --- in mid-air would --- do much more than complicate the issue and probably muddy / glaze the sound ?
