Tanita Tikiram (Ancient Heart) & Suzanne Vega (Solitude Standing)

Got back into vinyl only recently and I'm fiddling with my setup right now. Table is a vintage Marantz 6300 with DL-103 and PhonoClone. Tonight I played these records listening for female voices. I was hoping that anyone familiar with these albums could comment.

- Suzanne, opening track Tom's diner. Clear and open voice, some pronounces sss ('ssitting'). Voice fairly large and centered. Does this track should be sss-friendly on a good rig?

- Tanita, opening track Good Tradition. Very spacy sound, lots of detail. Her voice is a little small and harsh compared to Suzanne's. Overall sound is okay, but voice is not quite pleasing to my ears. How do you consider this track?

Both LP's are standard issues. Any sound related comments are very much appreciated.

Ralph
