If it is any help - I installed two, one on each of my 1200s. It is a doddle, no soldering required. The instructions from Kevin are first class and if I can do it anyone can. Believe me!!!Remove the plastic top plate, cut the two wires (as per Kevins diagram) remove the bits of wire left on the two upright pillars (the wires are wrapped not soldered on, at least they were on mine) Feed in the DC cable (part of the kit) and route so it is out of the way and fix to the upright pillars, this is where the soldering comes in but I used a simple screw block that slips neatly over the uprights and screwed them to the uprights with the new DC wires fitted to the blocks. Makes a nice secure join and easy to remove and replace original power leads if necessaary. The original lead and plug fits into the DC power unit and provides the sensing to allow the TT to operate as normal. Put the top plate back with the platter, plug into the mains, switch on and away you go.
With a smug expression on your face sit back and enjoy greater detail, quieter backgrounds and bass to rival the most expensive TTs available.
If this does not make sense, look up the fitting instructions on Kevin's web site. The strobe disabler is equally easy to fit as is the screw down clamp and not a soldering iron in sight.
