Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

I don't have a player to recommend. However Telarc SACDs can sometimes get very close to the best Analog, as well as

the best AIX and Classic Records DVD-Audios. The least objectionable CDs are once again Telarc, the bowed string instruments are not painful on these like they are on every other label, could be Telarc's distant microphone techniques? But I still find Telarc CDs unacceptable as they are too cold sounding, whereas the Telarc SACDs have more of analog's warmth. Some of the Telarc SACDs sound shockingly good.

Still I would only recommend an SACD player if your primary listening is Classical Music. I have not had good look with Sony SACD players or other SACD players using Sony transports. Multiple TOC reading errors causing multiple repairs. I have heard the Denon and Pioneer SACD transports are much more reliable and seldom develop TOC reading errors. So this may be the way to go?
