Why not buy a SL1200 and get the Origin Live DJ base plate that allows you to mount any Rega, Origin Live, or similar arm on the SL1200. If you want to mount an arm that is a surface mount rather than a central column like the Rega, just flip the base plate over and drill and tap your own holes. The only restriction is that the pivot to spindle distance should not be greater than 222mm +/- a few mm depending on how large the arm base is.
