OK. It's bragging..........I mean, sharing time. Here's my Christmas vinyl haul

While visiting family in MD I went to the local Goodwill where I picked up the following records in NM condition for a grand sum of less than $ 7.00

1- Tchaikovsky - Romeo & Juliet & Theme & Variations Ste #3 by Moscow Phil with Kondrashin, Kiril on Melodiya
2- Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture & Caprice Italien by Minneapolis S.O. with Dorati, Antal on Mercury Golden Imports. It has commentary by Deems Taylor concerning the composition.

I'm a big Tchaikovsky fan. I didn't have the Romeo & Juliet. I had a few copies of the 1812, but since it is an audiophile pressing, I thought it worthwhile. However I still like my Phillips pressing by Haitink better.

Then 3 Vox Box sets

1- Grieg - Works for Orchestra by Utah Sym with Abravanel, Maurice on Vox/Turnabout. A Quadraphonic 3 disk set
2- Ravel - All the works for Orchestra by Minnesota Orch with Scrowaczewski,Stanislaw on Vox/Turnabout. A Quadraphonic 4 disk set
3- Mendelssohn - Chamber Music Vol 1- Quartets 1-5 & 7 by European Quartet on Vox/Turnabout. A 3 disk set.

(The quad pressings have quite good sonics)

Also picked up Mike Oldfields, "Tubular Bells", Y&T's "Contagious" and a sealed copy of Huey Lewis' "Small World".

Maybe the most interesting is a Jimi Hendrix box set from Germany made in the early 80's I believe. Its just named "10 LP Kassette". My son gave me this, which he found left over from his old collection. He also gave me a couple of bootlegs by Jane's Addiction and a Promo copy of Emerson Lake & Palmer "Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends".
Again all in NM and this time for free! I haven't had time to do any research on the Hendrix Box set yet. Informative comments are welcomed.
