I am in the process of upgrading my 78 playback setup and trying to figure out the best way to do tranfers to make cd's for myself and friends and would like help with the Equalization settings on the Alesis Masterlink. It has a 3 band Parametric Equalizer with hi and lo shelf settings. For playback, I do very well using the treble and bass and mono settings on my NAD receiver but alas, these settings are not applied to the tape record out only to the playback. Before I acquire a separate equalizer, I thought I'd try to use the one included with the Alesis Masterlink -- though it is a bit maddening to fuss with the little buttons on the unit and harder to visualize the frequency spread.
If anyone is using this equalizer for 78 transfers, I'd love to hear about what settings you are using with various records/labels/time periods. I read a few articles about the Q setting but I am still rather mystified.
many thanks,
Stephanie

- Yes, that's the normal price unless you want to pay more for some odd reason. ;-) (nt) - John Elison 20:20:31 12/07/06 (0)
