VPI JMW tonearm

202.73.175.201

Hi, I own a VPI JMW10 tonearm. Has anyone experienced this with their JMWs?

When at rest, i can clearly see that the azimuth is straight (cartridge body perfectly perpendicular to the LP surface). But when the arm is already in the inner most part of the LP, the armwand's azimuth seems to be a bit off (cartridge seem to be leaning a bit on one side).

My theory is that the JMWs' wires coming from its top causes this. When the armwand is at rest position, the wires are stress free. But when the armwand is already close to the record label, the wires get into a tight turn, and normally it would like to counter-act this tight position by pushing the armwand outward - thus the azimuth is a bit skewed.

Just a theory, but do you guys think this holds water? If not, what do you think is the problem, and how could I fix it.

Btw, as far as the unipivot bearing is concerned, its perfect. The point is very sharp, and the inner cavity is smooth and clean.

TIA.
