I use two diffrent cartridges for 45's and Vg condition mono Lp's
1. I've been experimenting with using my AT110E with an ATN105 stylus tracking at 2.5 grams so far I'm liking the results for both 45's and mono Lp's,
2 Grado MC+ mono cartridge I use it mainly for VG or less than VG condition 45's and Lp's
I found the Grado yealds les surface noise and seems to track most everything I've tried with it.
It has a 1.0 mil stylus that works great for older 45's. I got mine used with low hours. You could try these or get your self an old Stanton 500 with a conical stylus like DJ's use or an M 44 or 55 Shure I've heard good things abot both.
I hope this helps
