you might look at handgun or photo equipment cases. pelican makes good ones, harbor freight has knock offs that do the same thing.

just a stout plastic case, some are aluminum , with foam inside cut into cubes. you remove the cubes needed to make space for what you are storing, the rest of the foam stays in place.

I suppose it could be customized with some velvet or whatever. one might even wrap the arm in plastic and make an impression using expanding foam , if it doesn't get hot in curing , or even clay .

I might repurpose or buy a wooden box like that used for paint sets, and set an impression in something like that.
