Very good tone control for DIY.

This tone control comes directly from the past.
It is the tone control section of my vintage Luxman L-30.
As I like it very much I was curious to simulate it with LT-Spice just to check its simulated performance.
Very good indeed (see intermodulation spectrum with 80 Hz/1KHz/10KHz input tones of 0.5V amplitude)!
The frequency response with maximum bass and maximum high selection is IMHO perfect for general purpose applications (I plan to build it for my DIY tube amplifiers that do not have any tone control on-board).
I also added an output emitter-follower with 2N3055 (I have plenty of them in storage) in order to better cope with any load impedance greater than 1K.
In the schematic the original 2SA836 Luxman PNP transistor has been replaced by a more common BC556.

Amazing what could be done with only 2 transistors!

Omnes feriunt, ultima necat.
