RE: Chinese metals

The important factor is there are a number of different grades of brass and copper. Pure or dead soft copper has very little memory. This means it has little or no spring back. It is also easily bent. In order to gain memory another metal is mixed in with the copper. Brass is just one of a number of such metals.
