I use the same viborg banana plugs and encountered the same problem with the hex heads getting stripped due to overtightening them. For me, this is not too much a problem as I have not found a need to remove the banana plug. When I had asked dusty about my experience of stripping the hex heads, his reply seemed to indicate that I had overtightened the screws more than necessary. His reply did not indicate that viborg's plugs are more prone to stripping than other banana plugs.

As to removing the stripped hex head, if I recall correctly, I was able to unscrew the stripped hex head by using another hex wrench. Apparently the included hex tool is also of a soft material and gets out of shape pretty easily. With a new hex tool, I was able to unscrew the stripped hex head.

Good to hear that they sound good as I have not experimented with other banana plugs.
