Pigtails speaker terminal noise filter

About 20 years ago I bought these from Audio Advisor. A Pigtail is a round tube about 6" long. The diameter is a little bigger than an AA battery. There is one spade lug that sits on top of the speaker cable spade. It only connects to the negative speaker terminal. There is no plus connection. There is no in and out pass thru. Just one spade lug. I remember the flyer saying something about reducing noise between speaker and amp.

Had forgotten they were on the speakers until hooking up another set.
Anyone remember these? Anyone know how they work. They do work. My speakers are brighter and hashier without them. They also make voices more realistic.
Thanks,
barondla
