Thanks. I have made Jon's IC's and speaker cables with success, but have never paid attention to his PC's, so I will revisit his site. I just find it interesting that VH and Crump (who was sort of a DIY'er) placed importance on spacing away the ground, while some of the megabuck vendors have had great success paralleling the ground. Not that I don't believe it may be better to space it away, just that maybe it really doesn't make that much difference, and makes it easier to construct the cable. I do note the Purist Dominus cross section shows 5 conductors in fluid version (maybe star quad with a ground) and two sets of 3 conductors each in the ferox version (pg 16 of their brochure). Other than VH and Crump, I have seen no manufacturers who space away the ground.
