Apples and Oranges

The fast blow are used for different applications than the slow blow. I try to always use generic medium blow ceramics. Never use a fast blow for any of my equipment. All have a large enough power supply to charge that the fast blow would need to be way oversized.
In amps with high energy storage, the slow blows are needed. Do not know if a 5 amp slow blow sounds different than an eight amp medium blow.
Power cord can make a difference too. Several medium power diy amps were tested with marginal value fuses and a 18 guage power cord. After several hours of use and many power sycles, the power cords were swapped to 14 ga. Fuses blew. I use this when ever major power supply work is performed to limit damage from mistakes or failures.
Shows that the last six feed of wire feeding the equipment can have a big effect on current delivery.
