Hello
I have been using Black Gate capacitors for many years, Standard, FK, non-polar, and they do require long time to "burn-in". The changes/improvements in sound are not always consistent over the burn-in period where areas of sound quality may improve during a certain stages of burning in and other areas worsen until finally they settle. This is my experience at least.
As for the idea that if equipment is turned off, you have to start the burn-in process from day-1, I have not found this to be the case.
The audio equipment will have to be powered up to allow burn-in for any power supply capacitors, common sense I guess.
