I plan on doing an op-amp upgrade on my DVD player (Sony DVP-S7000) and saw something curious when I looked inside. There are two different pairs of op-amps inside on the audio board. It has two Mitsubishi 5238's & two JRC 2114's. When I swapped out the op-amps on my two CD players, all four of the op-amps in each player were the same.
Any ideas on why different op-amps are used on the same player?
BTW, the unit will mainly see audio use and I want to use the LM4562 in place of the stock parts.
TIA
