No to both questions.

In relation to speaker placement, my setup is based on the Audio Physic method and I simply left the speakers where they were. The sound tightened up and became more precise with the Monaco and I didn't feel a need to change anything.

I have changed speaker cables and interconnects in the 2.5 years or so since I bought the Monaco but that was just normal "upgradeitis", not anything prompted by the Monaco.
