In Reply to: Has anyone used Herbie's thin Grungebuster dots to isolate an Oyaide carbon-fiber wallplate? posted by Quint on April 14, 2007 at 08:13:52:
As an experiment, I placed grungebuster Dots between the back of the WPC-Z aluminum bracket and the wall surface, and at first thought I liked what I heard. However, after further evaluation I found that rather than provide an improved interface, the grungebuster Dots slowed the presentation down a bit. Perhaps if drywall were not so soft as it is, the Dots might provide microphonic vibration damping as intended. IME, the best thing to do is simply tighten down the aluminum bracket as firmly as possible and enjoy :-)
