I bought 4 transformers recently and when they were unpacked, one of them had a slight rattle. In other words, there is a little play between the windings and the core. The windings move about 1/32", maybe a little more. The other 3 are rock solid, no movement. So I'm wondering if I should buy another transformer or just jam something on one side of the windings and eliminate the possibility of movement. These transformers weigh 5 lbs. each, so there is no point in shipping it back. That would cost more than the transformer (cheap because it's surplus stock).
Thanks for any thoughts.
