Lona,Do the panels soften the bass volume (SPL) overall, BUT gives better defined and lowers extension? (I don't really know how to interpret the waterfall charts.)
Hmmm. The blind leading the blind... I'm not sure how to interpret the chart either! I can tell you that the bass, mids, and highs are all much better defined now. Before the panels, there was a lot of low energy fogging up the details. Now, the air is clear and I can "see" much more specifically into each sound. Ah. this might be helpful: Previously, a very low note hit with force on the piano (Taylor Eigsti's Lucky to be Me CD) came across as thin and muffled. Now, it is deeper, wider, and definitely comes across as I know real low piano notes struck with force do! The space around the note is much wider, and the period after the note is struck is full of its after effect.
I have two ASC 9" diameter tube-traps now and I wonder if these panels will enhance as per the POSITIVE FEEBACK review.
I can't say, but if you are still noticing a lack of overall clarity or an excess amount of bass mud, I would try these. (Again, the 30 day return policy makes it painless.)
If you try them, let us know what you find!
All my best,
Tom
