Quote from Glen B above."For $90.00, Parts Express carries an 800VA rated Avel Lindberg transformer (part #122-720) that outputs 60V-0-60V and can be used for balanced power."
This has been my experience with Balanced Transformers from Avel Lindberg. YMMV
If you do not load the transformer down the output voltage will be
around 128 Volts. This of course will vary with your input voltage. What I did was to purchase the AVEL Y236904 800VA 55V+55V TOROIDAL TRANSFORMER (Part Number 122-715).
(I purchased two to make two BPS conditioners). This whole thing started when I purchased a Transcendent Sound Balanced Power Supply kit. It uses a 60v/60v 1000VA Avel Lindberg
transformer. I was disappointed with the 128 volt output and complained
to Transcendent Sound. They sent me a small transformer that I
integrated into the circuit. The downside is you are left with a 500VA
BPS. But I do have output voltages closer to input voltages.Even the lower priced Balanced Power Technologies units have this
problem. I emailed them a couple years ago on this subject.
