Let me just add my personal experience with respect to the choice of plastic or metal-jacket cable.I have two circuits of each type to my audio system. When I first had the metal-jacket circuits installed, I thought this wire would give improved RF noise immunity. However, since I had the plastic cable circuits installed and have been able to compare the performance of my Wadia 861 CD player on both types, I find that I prefer the sound with the Wadia on the plastic cable circuit. YMMV, and you may want to have one metal-jacket circuit installed so you can determine the better approach for your digital front-end.
Also, if you have more circuits installed than you need right away, be sure to leave the unused circuits turned off at the breaker panel.
Your power is 240-volt, single-phase, with two legs, L1 and L2. There is 240 volts between L1 and L2, but 120 volts between L1 and neutral, and L2 and neutral. The neutral is the larger slot on the outlet, and is connected to safety-earth ("ground") at the panel.
All your audio outlet circuits should be connected to either L1 or L2, but not to both. This keeps one form of noise present on the AC from getting in to your system.
