Now things are getting tricky! (Long Again)

The closet door is flimsy (one of those double slide open deals) and has gaps around the edges. No, I don't consider the rolls in there as my SQ&D, although it was extremely super quick and dirty :-) I do have a "legit" SQ&D in one of the rear corners replete with stinky burlap and all. And it does work. The reason I put rolls of R-13 in the closet was because one of the "real" corners of the room is in there (the closet comes into the room), so I stacked 4 rolls and then one on top of the shelf in that corner. I put two in the other corner of the closet (although not a real corner) and one on its corresponding shelf above for a total of 8 rolls. I have a MiniTrap in the front right corner as well as in the ceiling/tri-corner in the other rear corner opposite the SQ&D's corner. I had to put it up there because that's where the door opens, so that bottom tri-corner is untrapable. I can't really go to the ceiling in the SQ&D's corner because there is a curtain rod that juts out as there is a window right next to that corner. Everything is exactly where it shouldn't be in this room, yet I love it because it is all mine. The only truly non-utilized space (other than non-tricorners) is the front corner with the MiniTrap. I could go floor to ceiling there and likely will soon. And now it's tricky...

The speaker to wall distance I gave is misleading because that damn closet door is in that equation, i.e. the left speaker is 38" from the closet door. The doors are removable, but I've read about how symmetry is important for imaging, etc. and I honestly haven't been able to hear a difference between the doors open or closed, but I haven't measured it and haven't really AB'd it - definitely not in this latest suckout debacle. I figure having it closed and counting that as my distance is accurate and fine for the high frequencies, but it just occurred to me that the lows that pass through the door are not 38" from the wall, but more like 62" or more considering toe-in. Perhaps this is the problem. I'll do another move of the spkrs tomorrow (to make things truly symmetrical) and see what happens.
