...I'll explain further. I have a step up transformer wound with two independent primaries having a turns ratio of 1:5 for a 14dB gain and 1:10 for a 20dB gain with regards to the secondary. My question are, since the two primaries are independent (not tapped from a single winding), what will happen to the gain with respect to the secondary if you combine both primary coils in parallel? In series?

If you wired them in series, you'd get a 1:3.33 ratio for a gain of 10.44dB. In parallel, I'm not sure how that would work out given two different turns on each winding.
