Re your observation on capacitor voltage rating, I have read many times, and I believe the idea originated with one of the well known Japanese SET designers (if not also Thorsten), that it is true for electrolytic caps that the rated voltage should be as close as possible to the voltage that the cap sees in-circuit, and I think I can confirm that this is a good idea from personal experimentation, but for film&foil caps I too have lived by the dogma that the higher the voltage rating, the better the sonics. There may be theoretical reasons why both assumptions hold water with respect to those two very different capacitor types.
